7th Heaven
A Poem Documentary
I wrote a poem called '7th Heaven' 17 years ago when I was becoming a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. This was in the fall of 2003 at Norfolk State University. Our fraternity has 7 founders...we recognize them as the Jewels. I am a 7, therefore, I am the Jewel of my line! My dean is a 7 and he thought it would be a good idea if I performed the poem at my probate. I thought, "Great...another poem I have to memorize!" ...alone for that matter! lol. Never could I have imagined that many incoming 7s around the world would also be tasked to memorize and perform this poem at their probate! What an honor to create such a legacy! 17 years later, on our Founder's Day at 7:06pm EST, I'll be releasing a short documentary about the 'Jewel Poem' and I can't wait for you to experience it! '06
